5 Fandom Friday: Most Binge-Worthy Shows

I’ve always been a binge-watcher. Even before instant streaming was a thing, I’d always wait until a season of a TV show came out on DVD or iTunes, rent/buy them, and spend an entire weekend curled up in the Lay-Z-Boy in my parents’ basement to power through the whole thing. Most notably, I did this with Grey’s Anatomy in high school.

Now that we have so much TV content available at our fingertips, this list could really go on forever.  Buckle up!

My Top 5 Most Binge-Worthy TV Shows:

5. Orange is the New Black

There’s really nothing that needs said about this series – it is FANTASTIC. Exciting, shocking, and completely different from anything else on TV. If you haven’t watched it, WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU? Unless, of course, you have a problem with language & violence, in which case, steer clear.

4. Supernatural

Definitely one of my favorite shows of all time. I’ve been watching since 2009, when a guy I was dating had it on at his house and I was like “OMG WHAT IS THIS MAGICAL TV SHOW?”. I will always remember the episode – Season 4, episode 16, “On the Head of A Pin”. If you’re a SPN fan, you know how amazing that episode was. I immediately went to the video store & rented seasons 1-3 and finished them in about a week with my roommate.

3. Daredevil

Just finished this a couple weeks ago & it DEFINITELY deserves this spot. Netflix did an amazing job with a character that had been essentially made into the laughing stock of the superhero world by Marvel & Ben Affleck in 2003.  I’ll admit I was skeptical when the series was announced, but Charlie Cox is phenomenal as Matt Murdock and the dark tone of the show is much more conducive to the tone of the comics. It’s a solid A+.

2. Breaking Bad

Yet another show that if you haven’t seen it I will ask you WHY, GOD, WHY?! Just watch it. It’s incredible. Intelligent and witty while being so unbelievably dark and twisted.  It’s not even one of my “favorite” shows, because something that dark just cannot be placed in my favorites, BUT it 100% deserves this spot on my list because I appreciate how groundbreaking it was.

1. Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Still my favorite show of all time. Just hearing the theme song makes me giddy on a thousand different levels. You can only understand if you’re in the club.

And, just for funsies, once I’m all caught up on the current episodes of my favorite shows  – seriously I’m really far behind on S.H.I.E.L.D, Supernatural, American Horror Story, and Grey’s Anatomy – these are the ones I plan to watch next!
